At 5th of July 2010 the first workshop of Branchpoint project has been started at International Strelka institute Moscow in the frame of series events Summer on Strelka.
U:lab.spb has been invited to become a partner of Branchpoint project - the series of seminars and workshops on issue of parametric architecture.
The method we developed for “Branchpoint at Strelka” was focused at the linear design process,
where the parametric description of the logic the context operates became the main instrument of generation of the final design form.
Also Software support team helped participants to develop their projects to manufacturing stage according to “file to factory” concept.
Branchpoint at Strelka gathered 35 young architects from all around Russia, the workshop consisted of two main parts: 3 days of rhino+grasshopper training and 4 days of design application projects in 9 teams. The site of our experiments was the main Cort of Strelka institute. In the end all teams have presented their projects and laser cutting model. Also each day of the 7 days, the workshop had 1 or 2 lectures in the evening time.
Me and Danila were running the design workshop and also made 2 lectures on Generative design ideology and methodology.
We are very grateful to Strelka institute which supported this project and to all the participant we did the great work together. See more materials here
